In Saint-Emilion you have to be on your toes to qualify for Grand Cru status. Unlike in other French appellations, the classification is updated regularly with the last review taking place in 2012. Pierre and Alexia Bouyer have maintained this status for many years at Clos de la Cure, a beautiful walled 6ha plot (believed to have been a vineyard since the Middle Ages) close to the old church of St. Christophe-des-Bardes just to the east of Saint-Emilion itself.

Big red meats and big strong cheeses.
